The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs chaired by Prime Minister of India has approved the proposal of Ministry of Earth Sciences (MoES) on "Deep Ocean Mission", with a view to explore deep ocean for resources and develop deep sea technologies for sustainable use of ocean resources. Deep Ocean Mission with be a mission mode project to support the Blue Economy Initiatives of the Government of India. Ministry of Earth Sciences (MoES) will be the nodal Ministry implementing this multi-institutional ambitious mission.
The Deep Ocean Mission consists of the following six major components:
Chairman : NITI Aayog and Piramal Foundation
NITI Aayog and Piramal Foundation on 8th June 2021 launched Surakshit Hum Surakshit Tum Abhiyaan in 112 Aspirational Districts to assist district administrations in providing home-care support to Covid-19 patients. The Abhiyaan is being part of a special initiative in which local leaders, civil societies and volunteers work with district administrations to address emerging problems across key focus areas of the Aspirational Districts Programme. Surakshit Hum Surakshit Tum Abhiyaan will be led by district magistrates in partnership with local NGOs, which will enlist and train over 1 lakh volunteers to connect with patients. Piramal Foundation will work with district magistrates to support the training of NGOs and volunteers.

As on 03 June 2021 50,000 startups have been recognized as startups by Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT). About 1.7 lakh jobs created by recognized startups in 2020-2021.
Startup India at DPIIT has played a pivotal role in strengthening the key pillars identified for our startup economy. Funding opportunities to startups have been enhanced through the Fund of Funds Scheme with an overlay of INR 10,000 crore and the recently launched Startup India Seed Fund Scheme (SISFS) with an outlay of INR 945 crores.

"The Green Gold Collection” for Bamboo Product with Collaboration of National Bamboo Mission and the Government e-Marketplace (GeM) was launched by the Union Minister of State for Agriculture virtually on 03 June 2021. Resultant to the collaboration, a dedicated window “The Green Gold Collection” for bamboo products initiated in Government e-Marketplace (GeM) Portal. The Green Gold Collection showcases a handcrafted bamboo and bamboo products and aims to provide bamboo artisans, weavers and entrepreneurs in rural areas with market access to Government buyers. Product categories ranging from bamboo poles to bamboo products in furniture, lifestyle & decor, kitchenware, industrial machinery, handcrafted items such as toys and office utility items like water bottles, yoga mats, charcoal, etc.. This initiative seeks to promote the adoption and use of bamboo products among Government buyers and usher a sustainable rural economy for an Atmanirbhar Bharat.

Union Minister for Food Processing Industries virtually inaugurated the Indus Best Mega Food Park, Raipur on 3rd June 2021. the Mega Food Park will ensure value addition, longer shelf life for farm produce, better price realization for farmers, excellent storage facility and will provide an alternate market for farmers in the region.

Ministry of Food Processing Industries is focusing on boosting the food processing industry so that the agriculture sector helps in doubling the farmer’s income. The Scheme of Mega Food Park aims at providing a mechanism to link agricultural production to the market by bringing together farmers, processors and retailers so as to ensure maximizing value addition, minimizing wastage, increasing farmers income and creating employment opportunities particularly in rural sector. Under the Scheme, the Government of India provides financial assistance up to Rs. 50.00 Crore per Mega Food Park project.
