Telangana Engineers Day

Rich tributes were paid to Nawab Ali Nawaz Jung Bahadur on the occasion of his 144th birth anniversary, which is also being celebrated as Telangana Engineers Day for the last eight years.

About Ali Nawaz Jung
Nawab Ali Nawaz Jung Bahadur(1877 - 1949) was chief engineer during the rule of Nizam of Hyderabad. He was responsible for major irrigation works, buildings and bridges in Hyderabad State such as Osman Sagar, Nizam Sagar, Himayat Sagar and Ali Sagar reservoir.Since 2014, Government of Telangana announced that his birthday 11 July will be observed as Telangana Engineer's day.
