Mount Semeru(Indonesia) shot a plume of ash and debris into the sky on 16th Jan 2021 as bright red lava flowed down from its crater. Indonesia experiences frequent seismic and volcanic activity due to its position on the Pacific “Ring of Fire”, where tectonic plates collide.
