First flight to the newly constructed Hisar airport in Haryana was flagged off on 14th January 2021 under the Regional Connectivity Scheme – Ude Desh Ka Aam Nagrik (RCS-UDAN) of the Government of India. The flagging off marks the operationalization of 54th airport under the UDAN scheme.
About Regional Connectivity Scheme – Ude Desh Ka Aam Nagrik (RCS-UDAN) Started Year : 2016 Organiser : Union Ministry of Civil Aviation Ministry of Civil Aviation has launched Regional Connectivity Scheme (RCS)-UDAN (Ude Desh ka Aam Nagrik) scheme on 21-10-2016 for providing connectivity to un-served and under-served airports of the country. The primary objective of RCS is to stimulate regional air connectivity by making it affordable by providing Viability Gap Funding (VGF) and other concessions to the selected airline operators under RCS.
