NITI Aayog, in partnership with Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation on 13th April 2021 launched Poshan Gyan, a national digital repository on health and nutrition. This repository is curated and maintained by NITI Aayog in joint efforts with other development partners.
The mission is aimed to spread the message of the need for a nutritionally balanced diet and to understand the importance of accessible to all local fruits and vegetables. Launched on 12th April 2021 by Vijnana Bharati(VIBHA) and Global Indian Scientists’ and Technocrats’ Forum (GIST) with a mission of "Uttam Aahaar Uttam Vichaar" or `Good Diet-Good Cognition’.
The `Aahaar Kranti’ movement is designed to address the peculiar problem being faced by India and the world called `hunger and diseases in abundance’. Studies estimate that India produces as much as two times the amount of calories that it consumes. However, many in the country are still malnourished. The root cause of this strange phenomenon is a lack of nutritional awareness in all sections of our society. The programme will focus on training teachers, who, in turn, will pass on the message to the multitudes of students, and through them to their families and finally the society at large. Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi launched the ‘Jal Shakti Abhiyan:Catch the Rain’ campaign on World Water Day i.e. on 22nd March 2021 via video conferencing.
About ‘Jal Shakti Abhiyan:Catch the Rain’ The Campaign will be undertaken across the country, in both rural and urban areas, with the theme “catch the rain, where it falls, when it falls”. It will be implemented from 22nd March 2021 to 30th November, 2021 - the pre-monsoon and monsoon period in the country. It will be launched as a Jan Andolan to take water conservation at grass-root level through people’s participation. It is intended to nudge all stakeholders to create rainwater harvesting structures suitable to the climatic conditions and subsoil strata, to ensure proper storage of rainwater. Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE), under the aegis of the Ministry of Power undertaken Go Electric’ campaign an awareness drive for promoting Public Charging, e-mobility & its ecosystem.
Manipur has emerged as the Champion state in Van Dhan programme as a major source of employment for the local tribals. Since the time that the programme was launched in the State in 2019, 100 Van Dhan Vikas Kendras have been established. These constitute 1500 SHGs and are benefitting 30,000 tribal entrepreneurs, who are involved in collection, processing, value adding, packaging and marketing of value added products from Minor Forest produce.

The National Bamboo Mission organized a two day conference on ‘National Consultation on Opportunities and Challenges for Bamboo in India’ through the virtual platform on 25th and 26th of February 2021. The aim of the brainstorming session was to deliberate on the bamboo ecosystem for promoting the holistic growth of the sector across the entire value chain.
About National Bamboo Mission Restructured National Bamboo Mission approved by the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) on 25-04-2018. The Mission envisages promoting holistic growth of bamboo sector by adopting area-based, regionally differentiated strategy and to increase the area under bamboo cultivation and marketing. The Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare finalized the products for One District One Focus Product (ODOFP). The products have been identified from agricultural, horticultural, animal, poultry, milk, fisheries and aquaculture, marine sectors for 728 districts across the country.
Transforming iconic heritage, spiritual and cultural places in the country as ‘Swachh Tourist Destinations’ under Swachh Iconic Places (SIP) initiative of Swachh Bharat Mission Grameen (SBM-G), the Department of Drinking Water and Sanitation (DDWS), Ministry of Jal Shakti has announced the selection ofthe following Twelve (12) iconic sites under Phase IV of Swachh Iconic Places (SIP).
The initiative aims at enhancing the experience of both domestic and foreign visitors by improving the sanitation and cleanliness standards at and around the sites. The objective of Swachh Iconic Places is to achieve a distinctly higher level of Sanitation/Cleanliness at these places. The E-Chhawani portal has been created to provide online civic services to over 20 lakh residents of 62 Cantonment Boards across the country. The portal, jointly developed by eGov Foundation, Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL), Directorate General Defence Estates (DGDE) and National Informatics Centre (NIC), provides a platform to the residents to avail these services from the comfort of their home.

The Ministry of Road Transport & Highways (MoRTH) has issued orders making FASTag compulsory at all toll plazas from the midnight of February 15, 2021 across the country. Therefore, as per NH(National Highways) Fee Rules 2008, any vehicle not fitted with FASTag or vehicle without valid, functional ‘FASTag’ entering into the ‘FASTag lane’ of the fee plaza shall pay a fee equivalent to two times of the fee applicable to that category. These FASTag stickers are available from either the banks or the point of sales opened at the Toll Plazas. About FASTag FASTag is an electronic toll collection system in India, operated by the National Highway Authority of India(Ministry of Road Transport & Highways (MoRTH)). It employs Radio Frequency Identification technology for making toll payments directly from the prepaid or savings account linked to it or directly toll owner. About National Highways Authority of India The National Highways Authority of India is an autonomous agency of the Government of India, set up in 1988 and is responsible for management of a network of over 50,000 km of National Highways out of 1,15,000 km in India. It is a nodal agency of the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways Agreement for the financial support of the implementation of Strengthening Teaching-Learning and Results for States (STARS) project of Ministry of Education was signed with World Bank. The total project cost of STARS project is Rs 5718 crore with the financial support of World Bank amounting to US $ 500 million (approximately Rs. 3700 crore) and rest coming as State share from the participating States, over a period of 5 years.
