‘SUJALAM’, a ‘100 days campaign’ as part of the ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ celebrating to create more and more ODF(Open defecation) Plus villages by undertaking waste water management at village level particularly through creation of 1 million Soak-pits. The Campaign has started from 25th August, 2021 and will continue to run for the next 100 days.
The campaign will not only build desired infrastructure i.e. soak pit for management of greywater in villages but will also aid in sustainable management of waterbodies. The disposal of waste water and clogging of waterbodies in the villages or on the outskirts of the villages remain one of the major problems. The Campaign would help in management of the wastewater and in turn would help to revive the waterbodies. Sources : PIB

Prime Minster of India launched Ujjwala 2.0 (Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana - PMUY) via video conference on 10th August 2021. Under Ujjwala 2.0 migrant workers would no longer have to struggle to get address proof documents to get the gas connections. Now migrant workers would only be required to submit a self-declaration of their residential address to get the gas connection.
About Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana was launched by Hon’ble Prime Minister of India Shri Narendra Modi on 1st May 2016. Under this scheme, 5 Cr LPG connections will be provided to BPL families. Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY) aims to safeguard the health of women & children by providing them with a clean cooking fuel – LPG, so that they don’t have to compromise their health in smoky kitchens or wander in unsafe areas collecting firewood. About e-RUPI e-RUPI is a cashless and contactless instrument for digital payment. It is a QR code or SMS string-based e-Voucher, which is delivered to the mobile of the beneficiaries. The users of this seamless one-time payment mechanism will be able to redeem the voucher without a card or internet banking access, at the service provider. It has been developed by National Payments Corporation of India on its UPI platform.

The ICMED 13485 PLUS, as the new scheme will undertake verification of the quality, safety and efficacy of medical devices. The ICMED 13485 PLUS Scheme was launched Virtually on 18th June 2021. ICMED 13485 Plus has been designed to integrate the Quality Management System components through witness testing of products with reference to the defined product standards and specifications. This is the first scheme around the world in which quality management systems along with product certification standards are integrated with regulatory requirements.

Deep Ocean Mission with be a mission mode project to support the Blue Economy Initiatives of the Government of India. Ministry of Earth Sciences (MoES) will be the nodal Ministry implementing this multi-institutional ambitious mission.

NITI Aayog and Piramal Foundation on 8th June 2021 launched Surakshit Hum Surakshit Tum Abhiyaan in 112 Aspirational Districts to assist district administrations in providing home-care support to Covid-19 patients. The Abhiyaan is being part of a special initiative in which local leaders, civil societies and volunteers work with district administrations to address emerging problems across key focus areas of the Aspirational Districts Programme. Surakshit Hum Surakshit Tum Abhiyaan will be led by district magistrates in partnership with local NGOs, which will enlist and train over 1 lakh volunteers to connect with patients. Piramal Foundation will work with district magistrates to support the training of NGOs and volunteers. First Oxygen Express to Uttarakhand is reached on 11th May 2021 with 120 MT of Oxygen from Tatanagar in Jharkhand. The Oxygen Express loaded with containers of Liquid Medical Oxygen (LMO) About Liquid Medical Oxygen (LMO) Liquid Medical Oxygen is high purity oxygen used for medical treatment. It has been developed for use in the human body. Due to its low melting and boiling points, oxygen is in a gaseous state at room temperature. Liquification enables storage in larger volume and easier transportation There are various methods through which LMO can be produced. The most common production method is the separation of oxygen in Air Separation Units (ASUs). ASUs are production plants that separate large volumes of gases. Air Separation Units (ASUs) use a method known as the 'Fractional Distillation Method' to produce pure oxygen from atmospheric air. In the Fractional Distillation Method, the various gases constituting atmospheric air are separated into different components after cooling them into a liquid state. Sources : PIB The e-Sanjeevani OPD is a flagship telemedicine platform of the Government, developed by the Centre for Development of Advance Computing (C-DAC), Mohali under the aegis of Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW). It provides free consultations to Indian citizens and is functioning extremely well. However, due to the surge in COVID-19 cases, the demand for doctors is up while the supply has reduced as doctors are being pulled out for COVID ward duties. From 7th May 2021 onwards Ex-Defence doctors will now provide online consultation on e-Sanjeevani OPD to all citizens of the country. Veterans have come forward to answer the call of the nation and offered their services to help the people needing medical care.

Operation Samudra Setu Last year 2020, Indian Navy launched Operation Samudra Setu, as part of the Vande Bharat Mission, repatriating approximately 4,000 stranded and distressed Indian citizens from the Maldives, Sri Lanka, and Iran. Minister of Commerce & Industry Shri Piyush Goyal launched on 19th April 2021 the Startup India Seed Fund Scheme (SISFS). The Fund aims to provide financial assistance to startups for proof of concept, prototype development, product trials, market entry, and commercialization. The Scheme was announced by the Hon’ble Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi on 16th January 2021 in his Grand Plenary address of ‘Prarambh: StartupIndia International Summit’, marking the five-year anniversary of the Startup India initiative.
About Startup India Seed Fund Scheme (SISFS) Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) has created Startup India Seed Fund Scheme (SISFS) with an outlay of INR 945 Crore to provide financial assistance to startups for Proof of Concept, prototype development, product trials, market entry, and commercialization.It will support an estimated 3,600 entrepreneurs through 300 incubators in the next 4 years. An Experts Advisory Committee (EAC) has been constituted by Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) , which will be responsible for the overall execution and monitoring of the Startup India Seed Fund Scheme. The EAC will evaluate and select incubators for allotment of Seed Funds, monitor progress, and take all necessary measures for efficient utilization of funds towards fulfilment of objectives of Startup India Seed Fund Scheme. The Energy Forum (TEF) and the Federation of Indian Petroleum Industry (FIPI), under the aegis of Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, Government of India, are organising a Hydrogen Roundtable titled “Hydrogen Economy- the Indian Dialogue-2021” in a virtual mode on 15th April, 2021 to discuss emerging hydrogen ecosystems and exploring opportunities for collaboration, cooperation and coalition.
