Boosting the regional aerial connectivity in India, Star Air commenced the direct daily flight operations from Kalaburagi, Karnataka to Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh under the RCS-UDAN (Regional Connectivity Scheme – Ude Desh Ka Aam Nagrik) of Government of India. The dual objectives of the UDAN scheme; making air travel affordable for the people & simultaneously enhance its coverage in the country.

RCS-UDAN, "Ude Desh ka Aam Nagrik" is a Government of India's flagship program which aims to provide affordable, economically viable and profitable air travel on regional routes. This Regional Connectivity Scheme offers unique opportunity to a common man to fly at an affordable price. As the implementing agency, Airports Authority of India(AAI) has an ambitious plan to develop at least 100 airports/waterdromes/heliports by 2024 under the Scheme.
