A Disha One-Stop Centre, with facilities like a central administrative unit, medical examination, DVcell, etc., was inaugurated on 30th July 2021. one-stop centres would be set up across the State and they would have all facilities so that women in distress could be provided relief.

BPT 2841 - "a new black rice"

farmers in Andhra have been cultivating BPT 2841, a new black rice variety developed by the Acharya NG Ranga Agricultural University (ANGRAU). Black rice, popularly known as ‘forbidden rice’, is said to have roots in ancient China and was believed to be exclusive for royal consumption. However, black rice has a plenty of health benefits. It contains more Vitamin B and E, calcium, magnesium, iron, and zinc as compared to white rice.

Prati Roju Spandana

‘Prati Roju Spandana’ was launched on 24th July 2021 to make the police extend better service. Stern action would be taken against the police officers, who neglect, ill-treat or delay filing of cases and rendering justice to the victims. Petitions received in ‘Prati Roju Spandana’ would be sent to the officers concerned. The officers, including the SP, ASPs and the DSPs will speak to the victims online.

Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh on 23rd July 2021 disbursed ₹490.86 crore under YSR Kapu Nestham, benefiting 3,27,244 women belonging to the Kapu, Balija, Ontari, and Telaga communities. The money was credited into their bank accounts. The scheme is aimed at providing financial assistance of ₹15,000 per year for empowering women by providing them business opportunities through that companies with which the government has forged partnerships.

Gondi Language Day

People belonging to the Koya tribe on 22nd July 2021 observed the Gondi Language Day in the Agency areas of East Godavari district. The Gondi Language Day is observed on July 21 as per the Delhi Convention - 2018 organised by the Adivasi Samkshema Parishad (ASP), the prime body that has been striving for the protection of the language and culture in eight States spreading over southern, central and northern parts of the country.
