The President of India, in exercise of the powers conferred by clause (2) of Article 124 of the Constitution of India, appointed Shri Nuthalapati Venkata Ramana as 48th Chief Justice of India. 
 
About Shri Nuthalapati Venkata Ramana
Born into a family of agriculturists in Krishna district of Andhra Pradesh. Previously, he was a Judge of Supreme Court of India, Chief Justice of Delhi High Court.

About Article 124(2)
Article 124(2) states that every judge of the Supreme Court shall be appointed by the President of India by warrant under his hand and seal after consultation with such of the judges of the Supreme Court and of the High Courts in the states.

Government of Andhra Pradesh on 24th April 2021 ​credited ₹1,109 crore directly into the accounts of 1.02 crore women belonging to the self-help groups as interest reimbursement under the ‘YSR Sunna Vaddi’ scheme.
  • The government was committed to empowering women with financial benefit.
  • Government had credited ₹1,400 crore under the ‘YSR Sunna Vaddi’ scheme in the First year(2020) benefiting over 87 lakh women

YSR Zero Interest Crop Loan Scheme

Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh YS Jagan Mohan Reddy on 20th April 2021 launched the YSR Zero Interest Loan scheme to reduce input cost and financial assistance to the farmer. For 2019 - 20 Kharif crop paid 128 crores as interest subvention amount directly into farmer account.

The first instalment under the Andhra Pradesh govt's Jagananna Vidya Deevena scheme for 2020-21

Andhra Pradesh chief minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy deposited the first instalment of fee reimbursement for 10.88 lakh students for academic year 2020-21. The first instalment took place under the Jagananna Vidya Deevena scheme which amounts to nearly Rs 672 crore.

About Jagananna Vidya Deevena scheme
Financial funds will be provided to all of the students who are willing to study and gain higher education but unable to pay their fees because of the financial burden of their family. The reimbursement is to be directly credited into the mothers’ account of the students in four installments annually
